I am back from my week long hiatus in Punta de Mita, Mexico. We stayed in Los Veneros at an unbelievable resort with multiple infinity pools, a private, beach, and a beach club that served the absolute BEST Pina Colada (I’ll post a healthy version of the recipe later this week).
Our very own personal plunge pool in our backyard!
We had an amazing housekeeper who cooked us breakfast on our stunning patio, every single morning! We had a variety of eggs, bacon, mexican casserole, pancakes, and french toast. Oh.. and the morning fruit trays were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Although our group unanimously agreed that papaya officially smells and tastes like vomit.
We had pounds of seafood, chips and guacamole, and one million cocktails. I’d say that the theme of this trip DEFINITELY was to eat, drink and be merry! After our decadent breakfasts and prior to our day activities, the crew would hit up the resort gym to sweat it out. I don’t think I’ve ever sweat so much during a workout.. I didn’t even know my shin’s could sweat before last week! We did some Nike Training Club workouts. some group sessions, and we even did an impromptu Pachanga class which is a Latin workout with a combo of dance, boxing, plyo and more. I wish I had a Pachanga class in one of my gyms at Denver because the hour FLEW by and was a blast.
The days flew by filled with boogie boarding, volleyball, beer pong (yes we had an inflatable pool table), and a boat ride. Not only did I fall in love with Punta de Mita, but it also helped that we had the perfect group. Everyone was on the same page blending relaxation and activities and we had tons of laughs.
Now… even though this was one of the BEST trips of my life and I tried not stress about how many extra lbs I was inevitably putting on with all of the fine dining and drinking, I am now back home and SO READY to kick my butt back into gear. I’ve come up with a game plan that has worked AMAZINGLY for me in the past that I cannot wait to share with you tomorrow!
Check back in to know how I plan to get it done.
